New audio demos and free taster pack for Today's Harvest!

I wanted to get off a bit from my studies by making new demos for Today's Harvest, I felt that some of the sounds needed to be shown to better reflect the library. So here it is, new demos for Today's Harvest showcasing two kits:

Selected Tones: Kontakt 5 library

I've just released with Junebug from Electronisounds a new Kontakt 5 library called Selected Tones. It's a collection of 51 instruments useful for the music composer who don't want to fiddle with synths, here's the details:

"Selected Tones is a collection of 51 Kontakt 5 instruments created using sounds from the Electronisounds sample vault.
SampleScience chose his favorite multi-samples and enhanced them with Kontakt's built-in effects and sound shapers.  Almost all of these multi-samples were taken from real, hardware analog synths.
The result is 51 Kontakt instruments covering various types of tones including: genuine analog basses, resonant pianos, spacey synthetic atmospheres, cut through leads, textured pads, vibrant ethnic instruments, rich organs, deep electric pianos and more!

This is a collection of sounds suited for the discerning electronic music composer.

In a nutshell, these sounds are made to be played.  Furthermore, they are lightweight Kontakt 5 instruments and use a minimal amount of RAM, which means you don't need a very powerful computer to load them. It also makes these instruments easy to layer and mix together without having to mix down and reload your sequences all the time!"

It's available at Sampleism.com for 9.99 pounds.

Precisions

I have to ad some precision to my previous post. SampleScience has a music project and sample provider is over. However, the Discogs store will stay open for business and all the old sample libraries will stay available on Sampleism.com. I'm still making music but now exclusively on hardware instruments. My new musical projects will be release under a new name/moniker (probably my real name). It will be way more experimental and underground than SampleScience, so my web presence will move to different places/sites/forums.

Obscure Waves is still running on an occasional basis with new podcasts and interviews in the pipeline.

Thanks to all who supported me over the years.

The end of an era: SampleScience's demise

I decided to terminate my SampleScience project. After many years of creation in the field of computer music, I think it's now the time to move on to something else. All my SampleScience and Stoik albums are now available for free at Archive.org and Bandcamp. My sample libraries stay payware and will always be available on Sampleism.com. So far, I've created 4 sample librairies, 7 albums, 1 compilation and I've collaborated with Gary Flanagan on one album, and Junebug from Electronisounds on 2 sample libraries. I also made a drum kit for and beta tested Black Magic, a random based virtual groovebox/drum machine. I made the sample content of RicePad, a music creation iOS app.

I will now move on to a more composition based approach and focus on single hardware, electronic instrument. I think that the never ending options of computer based setup diminished creativity and I feel now far less inspired by this kind of setup than before. I need to go back to basic and create a complex musical vision on the essence of what is music: composition.

I hope you enjoyed the ride as much as I enjoyed it!

Cheers!
